I feel as though when people think of egg-less cakes, or anything egg-less, they become instantly frightened of the thought, but today I would like to tell you, there is nothing to be frightened of!! I was once frightened to, but learning some tips off the web has changed my mentality towards egg-less treats and helped me create amazing cakes and more!! Now, first off I would like to tell you, that these egg substitutes are from other websites that I dearly love due to the amount of times their substitutes have worked for me and, are so easy to use! So, attached with this blog post, there are two egg substitute charts; Gemma's Bigger Bolder Baking Egg Substitutes (and her youtube video below) and SheKnows Baking without eggs. The first chart which is created by Gemma (https://www.biggerbolderbaking.com/egg-substitutes-for-baking/) is absolutely amazing! This chart tells us which substitutes can be used in different baking methods and I cannot stress enough, it is very important to use the right substitute method for the baking method you will be using. For example, if you are baking cookies, according to the chart, use ground flax seed and water, try not to use other methods. Other substitutes may potentially work out, but it would be better to keep it safe. The reason there are specific substitutes for specific baking methods is because, eggs work differently in each recipe, for example in cakes, eggs are leavening agents. This is why it is vital to use the right substitutes as the substitutes stated by these professional bakers have been made to work as the egg would in each recipe type. The second chart by SheKnows (https://www.sheknows.com/food-and-recipes/articles/955371/baking-without-eggs) is also my ode to baking. As I have discussed, it is important to use the right substitutes in the right recipes, but in this chart there is more leeway. Certain substitutes can be used for every style of baking. Honestly though, both of these charts are brilliant!
Now, we can bake without eggs stress-free! And all thanks to these professional bakers who have experimented and taken time to create these charts. So please, use these charts for inspiration, and do not feel frightened by the word egg-less, it is not as hard as people make it sound. Also, check out Gemma's Bigger Bolder Baking Youtube channel, where she creates amazing baked goods.
Thanks you lovely people!
Enjoy! And Happy Baking!!!
(This blog was created to answer and help Praveen Sharma who asked for an eggless recipe, I hope this helps Praveen! Just to be clear, you can use any cake recipe you want with these substitutes.)
